Calendar Winner

South Ayrshire
26 Jan 2015

Abbie George, P7 pupil at Fisherton Primary School in Dunure, has won the Road Safety 2015 Calendar Competition with a wonderful drawing encouraging others to – Be Bright at Night. The winning design was selected from numerous entries from schools across South Ayrshire. The Ayrshire Roads Alliance’s Road Safety Team in partnership with Junior Road Safety Officers in each school organised the competition, helping to spread the important road safety campaign message of ‘look out for each other’. Each school's JRSO Committee selected three of the best entries then it was over to Councillor John McDowall, Portfolio Holder for Sustainability and Environment to carry out the very difficult task of choosing the winning image. Councillor McDowall said: “Abbie has done a great job in highlighting the need to be bright at night and many congratulations to her on winning this competition". Many congratulations to the school co-ordinator and JRSO pupils at Fisherton Primary for all their hard work.

Ziggys Halloween Wish

Highland
28 Nov 2012

We went into the Primary 1 to 3 classes and told them the story of Ziggy Halloween Wish. We then fitted all the children with vis vests and explained how they worked also how important it was for them to wear it in the dark whilst out playing and walking to school. We went back 1 week later and rewarded all the children still wearing their vests with fluorescent pencils.
