International JRSO Badge Competition (iJRSO) 2012/2013

Thanks to our wonderful JRSOs, we’ve had yet another successful JRSO competition. A total of 73 schools entered the competition, so a huge thank you to all the schools who took part. A special thank you to the JRSOs, Co-ordinators and other school staff who organised their own school competition. What a fantastic way of participating. An extra special thank you and well done to the pupils who designed their school’s entry; the quality of the designs was excellent.

22 entries reached the final stage of judging and, from there, into the Highly Commended, Runners-Up and the Winner categories. The judges agreed that, as the standard of these was so high, we would showcase them on the website (follow the link at the bottom of this page).

As it was clear that a lot of time and hard work was dedicated to the competition, the judging panel agreed that ALL entries would be acknowledged and receive an appropriate certificate. The winning design will be used to produce Scotland’s iJRSO badge. Further details on how that will be used will soon be available on the website… so keep your eyes on the UN Decade of Action section.

Previous UN Decade of Action Competitions

Some of you will already have taken part in the JRSO poster competition we ran in 2011, inviting JRSO schools to design a Decade of Action poster. All the entries were absolutely fantastic, and a lot of thought and hard work went in to the designs. It was a difficult task for the judges but 10 posters were chosen to represent Scotland’s JRSOs at a launch event in Edinburgh on 11 May 2011. The 10 chsoen poster can bee seen below and all the other entries can be seen here.
