We will be running quite a few mini competitions throughout the school year, so keep your eyes peeled! Every time you take part in a mini competition, we’d like you to consider the following promises:

• spend some time on www.jrso.com and www.makeroadssafe.org finding out as much as possible about the United Nations Decade of Action for Road Safety 2011 - 2020

• make one commitment to actually do something linked to the Decade of Action

So, why don’t you have a go at the first one and see how you get on. There will be a prize… or even, prizes!

The Zenani Mandela Campaign
Task 1: Find a ‘makeroadssafe’ link.
Task 2: Find a link to the Zenani Campaign Booklet.
Task 3: Read the booklet and answer the following questions:

1. What is the leading cause of death for children and adolescents over the age of 10?

2. Every  _ _ _ _ _  minutes, a young person dies on the world’s roads.

3. How many young people under the age of 25 die every day on the world’s roads?

4. Why was the Zenani Mandela campaign set up?

5. Name one famous campaign supporter?

To take part upload your answers to Competitions and use the title Zenani Mandela Competition. The closing date for entries is Friday 20th December 2013. Results will be announced online in January.
