Project EDWARD 2018 European Day Without Road Death
6 Sep 2018

Project EDWARD 2018 European Day Without Road Death – 19 September 2018.

How good would it be if no-one was killed as the result of a road traffic crash?

Maybe that’s just a dream and will never happen but it doesn’t mean we can’t aim for it!

How good would it be if there was at least one day in the year when no-one was killed as the result of a road traffic crash?

Maybe if we all believed that if we did a little bit to reduce risk and improve safety for the people who use our roads, we might get closer to that dream, that aim.

So, JRSOs across Scotland, let’s be pro-active and do our bit, and support Project EDWARD 2018.

September 19th is Project EDWARD day for 2018. However, we need to be doing some promotion before that day.

Here are things you can do in your school and local community:

• Ask your teachers, school staff, parents and anyone you know who drives to take the pledge   https://projectedward.eu/pledge/

• Sign your school up to be able to access resources such as the logo and artwork, if you want to design your own posters/leaflets. https://projectedward.eu/2018resources/

• Design your own poster for the staff noticeboard.

• Design a leaflet that you can hand out to the pupils in your school and ask them to take it home to their parents.

• If you have time, you could organise a competition in your school to design a poster/leaflet.

• Distribute your leaflets and/or posters to local businesses and ask if they will help to promote the campaign.

• If your school uses social media platforms, ask your teacher/head teacher if your school can support the campaign on social media. https://projectedward.eu/2018resources/

Please discuss ideas with your JRSO Co-ordinator/teacher and make sure you get permission from your Head Teacher.
