how to be a jrso
Many schools have their own methods of recruiting JRSOs – there's no one way correct way of doing it. It all depends on what best suits the school. Here's just one way: Primary 6 pupils, or pupils at the end of Primary 5, apply for the job by filling in an application form. On the form they have to say why they would like the job and what would make them a good JRSO. The applicants may then attend an interview. The interview panel is usually made up of the JRSOs who are finishing and a teacher and/or helper.
Once the JRSOs have been appointed they will be met by their Road Safety Officer who will give them a pack and tell them what their job will be for the year.
In the pack there is an activity book, a pen and a badge.
