school travel plan

Carry out a survey to find out how many pupils travel to school by car. You can do this by making up a questionnaire or doing a survey outside the school in the morning. You might like to think of ways to help people walk, cycle or car share.

Here are some things you could could find out about:

  • Do they live close enough to walk and if so why don't they walk.

  • If they have to come a longer way can their parents have turn about to take more than one child in their car.

  • Is it possible to cycle to school on a safer route.

You might be able to think of a lot of different ways to help them travel in a healthier way. Both for the pupils and for the environment. Find your School Travel Co-ordinator here.
