UN Decade of Action for Road Safety 2011-2020

We have big plans on how Scotland’s JRSOs can make a real contribution to the United Nations’ goal:

“..to stabilise and then reduce road traffic fatalities around the world by increasing activities at national, regional and local levels.”

Q: How are we going to do this?

A: Well, the first thing we are doing is planning a Scottish event for May 11 2011 and we want the JRSOs from 10 JRSO schools there to represent all of Scotland’s JRSOs.

Q: OK, sounds good but how do we decide who these 10 schools are going to be?

A: Run a simple poster competition on the JRSO website

Q. What is the competition?

A: The competition is to design a poster that we can use to promote the UN Decade of Action activity in Scotland. We’re very lucky because we’ll have 10 posters we can use!

You can submit either an A4 or A3 size poster in a portrait or landscape format. Make your poster A4 size if you are planning to scan it in and have an A4 scanner. If you have a bigger scanner or if you are going to send in a photograph of your poster then you can make it A3 size.

Upload your submission to the POSTERS category on the Uploads page in the Members Only section. Remember to make sure you clearly mark your submission UN POSTER COMPETITION 2011 in the 'title' box. Also remember to add your names, school and write a description about your poster in the 'description' box.

Q: Where can JRSOs get some information to help them design a poster?

A: There’s a lot of information online - here are some useful links:
